Description
Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke is the result of fully aged Basil Hayden Bourbon spending an extra six months resting in one of these secondary barrels.
The barrels were toasted and lightly charred. After charring, the barrels are filled with smoke from hickory-smoked oak chips. This creates more soft char and light butterscotch notes and a smoother, more subtle bourbon that absorbs into the wood. There’s also still plenty of those high-rye influences from Basil Hayden’s traditional mash bill.
