Description
These freshly emptied 7-year W. L. Weller Bourbon Special Reserve barrels were sent to us straight from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Fill these for aging beer, cider, wine or another type of distilled spirit and you will not be disappointed.
Weller Special Reserve stands out thanks to its softer flavor notes and smooth taste. That flavor is locked deep in the barrel staves and ready to be transferred to your beverage.
What makes Weller different? They are a line of wheated bourbons, which means the small grain in the mash bill is wheat instead of rye. Corn and malted barley make up the large and finish grains, respectively. This is the same mash bill that’s used to make Van Winkle 10 and 12-year-old bourbons.
