Description
Barrel program managers may be familiar with rum barrels that previously aged bourbon. But these barrels have an extra layer of complexity that promises excellent flavor.
First, these casks aged bourbon. Then, they aged Plantation Jamaican Rum for 1 to 3 years. Finally, the barrels finished a 10-year-old Tennessee bourbon for an additional 22 months.
Maybe “finally” isn’t the right word, though. Now that they’ve been freshly emptied, these Bardstown Bourbon Plantation Rum Cask Finish Barrels are ready to age whatever beer, cider, mead, wine or other beverage. Expect familiar bourbon notes coupled with the fruity, sweet flavors of Jamaican rum.
Please note: Current available barrels have belly bungs and do not have Plantation Rum painted heads.
