Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Mash #2 has a slightly higher rye content than Mash #1. The exact mash bill is a closely guarded secret, but most estimates have the rye content at 10-12%. The end result is a little more spice mixed in with other robust flavors.
Bourbon brands that use Mash #2 include some highly sought after bourbons, including Elmer T. Lee, Rock Hill Farms and Hancock’s President’s Reserve.
